Trattoria da Luciano a Priora

A dining experience like no other. First thing Raffaele said to our family of 6, "this is your home for the next 2 hours" and he was serious. Incredible food that just kept coming. Humor that lit up the room and excellent service. My dad ordered a bloody Mary to which he replied they didn't have Tomato juice to make it, so what did they do...? They made fresh Tomato juice to complete the order! And to top it all off, we could not get a taxi to come back to pick us up, so he offered to drive all 6 of us back to the hotel!! Amazing hidden gem that did not disappoint. YOU MUST GO! order anything from the menu, have a great time, with good laughs and great people. 10/10

The atmosphere here is amazing, we felt right at home and they accommodated a group of 10 with no problems! We split the appetizer plater, eggplant balls, and shrimp. All 3 were amazing, the shrimp had a great spice to it! 10/10 For mains we had the following: pistachio pasta with a burrata ball on top. Light on the salt but all around great. 9/10 The steak, is was chewy and underwhelming you can get a lot better elsewhere- come here for the pasta not for this 5/10 The spaghetti and meatballs, the meatballs were extremely moist and the sauce had a nice spice to it. The pasta was cooked perfectly 9/10 I like a little parsley in my meatballs but that’s a personal preference that’s why it’s a 9/10 instead of a 10/10 The bolognese is great but could use a little more sauce, this is just a personal preference though - the sauce was well flavored and the noodles were cooked great 9/10 Tiramisu was great - the mascarpone was not creamy enough and was a little dense but we loved it 9/10

We were staying nearby and came across this amazing little Italian restaurant. Rafael made us feel incredibly welcome, gave us all sorts of recommendations for beaches and places nearby. We went for lunch on our first day, enjoying fresh local mussels and beautiful homemade pasta. We ate there again on our final night in Priora and they made it such a special experience with a table facing the sunset. Rafael and the waiter looked after us well all night. We had the garlic prawns and caprese salad to start, with mussels and clam pasta next, finished with a Limoncello and vanilla gelato. Perfect! 10/10, would love to go back!

I will start with the people…Rafael and Massimiliano (chef) were SO MUCH FUN! Upon being greeted and sitting down we immediately felt at home. The warm hospitality, the humor, the genuine interest in us and our experience - it’s evident these guys enjoy their jobs because the joy in this Trattoria was infectious. Our first meal was on Good Friday where we had the Meatball Spaghetti and Mussels Pasta…wow! In 2 weeks in Italy, we ate fantastic cuisine in several cities, and this restaurant ranks among the top! Massimiliano is a gifted chef, preparing dishes full of flavor and beautiful in presentation. Delicious! They invited us back to have traditional Easter lamb and potatoes on Sunday. (Of course we came back!!) What an honor to experience the Italian culture and cuisine on this special holiday. Please do yourself a favor and stop by to experience this Sorrento gem!

What an amazing place!! Great food, great service from the staff and great atmosphere!! Cannot recommend it more and we will definitely visit again and again. We didn’t book and they accommodated us and we got the specials (starter) parmigiana melanzane and (mains) handmade pasta with burrata, pomodori and pistachios - delicious

A true hidden gem. My wife, son and I ate here twice and the food was simply fantastic. The spicy garlic shrimp was superb and on our second visit we had the special. Spaghetti and meatballs which was the best. The Tiramisu and the cheesecake with berries sealed the deal both times. We would have returned but the end of our stay prevented it. Make the effort to find this place, you won’t regret it. xxx. P.S. my pricing reflects starters, mains and dessert. Very reasonable.

I recently traveled to Italy for my first time. My 10 day visit included a 5 day stay in Priora right next door to this restaurant. I was beyond blessed by the ancient Roman gods to have happened to stay just 1 minute from this legendary restaurant. During my trip I visited at least a few dozen restaurants all across Italy - Rome, Naples, Sorrento, Capri, etc. All of them were highly rated and some even possessed at least 1 Michelin star. Most of these restaurants had some of the best food I’ve ever had in my entire life, but all fell short in at least one category you could rate a restaurant with except for this place. Trattoria da Luciano a Priora is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my entire life. The food was stunning - every dish was expertly prepared, as if drawing from the wisdom and expertise of generations of familial and regional techniques. For as much depth of flavor each dish had, there was also simplicity. Nothing overstated itself, and every dish was exactly what anyone could want it to be. Even the pattatine frite, a simple french fry dish, was superb in its preparation. We went every single day and enjoyed trying majority of the menu. There was not one dish that fell even slightly short of perfection. Despite being in Priora for 5 days, it took less than 5 minutes for our waiter Rafaelle to make us feel like his cousins apart of his family. We were lucky to experience the avowed Mediterranean hospitality our entire trip, but this was the one place that did not feel like it was part of a show - purely genuine. Thank you to Luciano and your kind staff for an amazing and unforgettable experience. I hope your restaurant achieves all the accolades it rightly deserves and you find huge success over the years. I will be coming back to Priora one day just to visit you again. :)

It is these little gems that make your whole trip, in our case, Italy. We decided to dine here because it was close to our accomodation, but the food was simply the most authentic in our whole trip through Sorrento, Napoli and Positano. Rafael was the most welcoming host and literally made us feel like we were dining there the 100th time eventhough we arrived without a reservation. The food was fresh, cooked in such a simple but authentic style that we felt like we were dining at somebody’s home. Honestly, this restaurant made me think to revisit Sorrento sometime in the future.
